Where can I get svcutil.exe?

By alburns23 ·

I am starting to look at Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) under .NET Framework 3.0 and I need to get hold of svcutil.exe. Various posts advise that this comes as part of the .NET Framework SDK, however, I have downloaded and installed this but still cannot find this utility! Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of this please? Many thanks.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\Bin

It is probably a hidden file, so you will have to unhide hidden files. In Explorer go to the Menu and select Tools, Folders Options, View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.

Thanks for the reply. I have set the folder options to unhide all folders already but this folder path does not exist for me yet I have definately installed the SDK from the Microsoft download site. Is there anywhere I can just get hold of this utility?

Just What I'm Looking For

Many thanks for posting that link, it was just what I was looking for. I'll download the additional software from those links & upgrade to Visual Studio 2008, hopefully that will sort things out.
