Where is a good place to hire IT interns for a startup?- non paid

    by babatatakak ·

I need advice on how and where to hire. Over the past year I co-founded a social media platform called Circle. Circle allows users to track and share their progress, learn from other ambitious users taking on similar goals and create group goals with friends. Finally, after a year in development Circle is at the finish line. We will be publishing Circle to the App Store and the google play store this month. Now, we are looking to build a team. The problem is, since we’re just a startup and not yet profitable, we can’t pay any new comers, however we are going to offer the chance of equity or salary in the long run. Where should I post to reach potential new comers interested In gaining experience and growing a startup?

Non-paid? That would be local colleges.

The pay is in educational credits.

This way there is no need to offer equity. You should at least cover basics like parking fees, lunch, etc.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), businesses must pay employees at least the minimum wage unless their job duties fall under one of several exceptions to the rule. That means businesses can lawfully hire unpaid interns only if the internship meets certain criteria.
There are a number of catchall sites where you can post your internships including: Internships.com, Experience.com, Indeed, Idealist.org, Mediabistro.com, InternJobs, CollegeRecruiter.com, InternMatch, YouTern, College.monster.com, and even Craigslist.
