Whether the problem is in unix or NT?

by shivakumar . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

Hi we are using one dell pIII system , the O.S is winnt workstation 4.0 with SP5 our server is HP UX server , we have mapped the file server diorectory as local drive of NT .
When I have copied the file named SIVA(All are capital letter) to unix folder ( which was mapped as a local drive of NT) the file name was automatically changed into siva(all are small letter ) in the unix folder, If I do the same from unix folder to NT local drive (C or D) there is no any change in the file name. It washappened only when we copied from NT to unix and also this problem helds only with few PCs , other PCs are working fine without any problem.

If I have copied the file named SIVAresume(which has small and capital letters on it)to unix it was changed into sivaresume ( all are small) , if I have created and copied the file named SIVAresume from unix to NT , there is no change on the file name (it shows SIVAresume in NT also).

What could be the problem what is the solution for this?.Pleasegive detailed reply .

Thanks and regards
Sivakumar
