The company i work for has a ProLiant DL380 G7, currently running as dhcp,DC\AD, and iis, a ProLiant DL380p Gen8 server currently running as sql database, no raid setup , a storage\file server setup on a Norco RPC-4020 but we do not know the hardware lifespan on it. but no one currently save anything on it, Auditors flagged that we need to have a backup and disaster recovery plan. what hardware would i need to put restoration measures for network as no firewall exists, storage\backup onsite and offsite, server hardware to move it to virtualization

“no one currently save anything on it”

That was about the Norco. The Norco from what I can find is a computer case so my bet is someone built a PC and folk think that’s the model of the server.

I’m also going to disagree there is no firewall. Even the most common router has a natural firewall where unsolicited connections fail.

It’s good to get an audit but I get the feeling the company might have been trying to do without an IT lead so they can’t rebuff the firewall claim and will have to hire a staffer to complete the backup and other plans.

        May have shipped in 2011.

As such it’s what they call “BEYOND SERVICE LIFE” and should never be a front line server.

          so norco should be removed?

          Why replace it?

true there is a firewall but control by isp

        But no internal firewall

So which cost effective devices will help them?

There are debates about how far to go with firewalls.

I can’t tell you how far you must go. That’s a policy decision your CIO/CIT/IT leads make.

Most if not all OSes have firewalls as well.

-> To state there is no internal firewall is incorrect.
