In another post you ask for software for selling digital downloads. If that is for the same shop as you mention here, surely the best platform is one on which all your requirements for that purpose can be implemented.

I wonder if Shopify and WordPress qualify, but only someone knowing those tools and their addons can tell, after you specify what the software should do and why it’s different from selling shoes or laptops or such things.

Hi I will stick with WordPress + Commerce. There are some speed concerns that can be solved via Cloudflare and the Hummingbird Plugin.

I use a bunch of WooCommerce + WordPress, I will try to explain my choice, maybe it will be more convenient for you to use the same.
WooCommerce is used alongside WordPress. You need to set it up manually, but you can customize the store much more precisely to suit your needs. Shopify does almost all the work for you, however you have to pay for it every month.
Shopify is a casual solution for a simple and hassle-free store.
WooCommerce is a plugin for hobbyists and professionals who can take the time to customize the store to suit their needs. I use WooCommerce for my store and it’s not difficult for me, but see for yourself what is more convenient for you.
