which-vpn-question but precise… Please help out with some expertise…
because I am connected to the web through public hotspots more than in any other way (regarding time as well as volume) I thougt spending a few bucks a month on a VPN provider could make sense. I never got into that deeper but I roughly know what VPN is… -well enough. These in some VPN-related discussions worthy explanations, that VPN are not providing anonymization or bullet-proof privacy, is not what I’m asking for (not meant to sound like it might sound to some, maybe cocky or salty, …just want to prevent explaining-efford is spent in the wrong direction and I’m no native English speaker). To choice of the right provider seems to demand a few hours of getting into all the attributes which are supposed to define these companys differences but partially are also too complex for sharp outcome and partially lacking in substance. To still make the best choice but get around these efforts for (in my case) just a max-once-in-a-decade-choice is why I’m asking…. Some of above-mentioned attributes potentially seem to be the country, where its headquarters are, quantity of servers and how they’re spread geographically, some quality seal I forgot its name, maybe any kind of stability, speed, compatibilities, trust-worthiness maybe to start with the open-source-question, additional features important in between useless ones…… it seems to inevitably be either a hassle or a gamble. Or are all of them just good enough and this hassle is just created by competition and marketing people?
All this regards to two devices: Notebook and an ARM (phone never uses public hotspots), in both cases os= arch linux, I am not watching streams in very high quality, I’m using TOR time by time (if this might be of interest, prices are very relevant to me and I will always rather pay monthly instead of receiving discounts for an anual rate in advance. Of course I will add all relevant data, you might mention missing here… please ask.
Any advice or help on this I would appreciate a lot! Thank you so much!
