I was waiting for someone to post something about it. Here in the great US of A it is somewhat of a nation folli-day. When millions of procrastinators (myself included) rush to file their taxes before the mid-night deadline. So who will be doing their takes with me this evening?

I file electronically for the Feds the last weekend in January or the first of Feb, and mailed the state at the same time. My checking account was credited with the federal refund in ten days, and I has the check back from the state in under four weeks.
you arrived at the Columbia, SC post office at 11:30, only to learn they stopped staying open late on April 15th way back in 2007. And they didn't have pretzels when they were open. Normal business hours, just like any other post office business day of the year.
Not that it's happened to me; I've never waited past mid-February. I want my money back.
but some people have to file city income tax too. At least, I assume they do, since employers supply copies of your W-2 (form from your employer showing your income and taxes withheld for the year) for fed, state, and local. There are a handful of states that don't have income tax. Nevada doesn't because the casinos are taxed at something like 30% of their gross income; the tourists pay the taxes for the locals.
The state tax form in SC is much simpler than the federal form. In most cases you just enter how much income you reported on the fed and check the table for how much you owe.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
Who still has to do their taxes yet?
