pid 1544 (python), uid 0, was killed: out of swap space
I get this error after 45 sec to 1 min after being connected and into the web GUI. I installed FreeNAS 8.0.1 Beta 3 i386.iso in 1 HDD (3GB)and was planing to use the other as storage (40GB), this old PC (Dell Dimension L800CXE) can’t boot from a USB flash as recommended by freeNAS, So I’m stucked in the first step, can’t start the sharing process. Any solutions?
    Thanks.

      Enlarge the swapfile.

Consider also that you are using a beta version. If you actually want to use this, get a stable version.

It isn’t just a recommendation that you don’t install the image on an HDD, but if you are going to do so, you had better have two drives in the system – one for the OS image, and one for storage. While technically you can install FreeNAS??? onto a hard drive, this is discouraged as you will lose the storage capacity of the drive: that is, the operating system will “take over” the drive and will not allow you to store data on it, regardless of the size of the drive.

Thanks seanferd, I actually changed to a 8.0 release (no beta), it’s more stable now. Also I’ve been told that I need more than the 128RAM I got now, so I’m getting more today. How do I change the swap and how big it should be? I’m planing to use 2 HDD, the one that takes the OS is a 3GB and the storage one is a 40GB
