Why am I recently unable to download video files in IE8?

Lately I have noticed that the video files that i download stop in the middle at any random % completion. These files are mostly about 600-700 MB. I am using Windows 7. I am a regular downloader of files & this had never happened before. This does not happen on other browsers like firefox (thankfully) 🙂
Plus there is no network issue at those times as well. Any ideas???

      Use a download manager.

You may simply be losing the connection to the server. If you use a decent download manager, you can a) see what happens if and when a download fails and, b) possibly resume a dropped download if the server supports this, so you don’t have to start from the beginning of the file again.

Free Download Manager is pretty good, and it integrates with many browsers. It will catch your download click from the browser so you don’t have to open the app separately. (freedownloadmanager.org)

Please check to see if your IE8 has all its default….
Start button > Default Programs > Set Your Default programs > left olumn, click Internet Explorer. Does it say ” This program has all its defaults ” ?
If no, click Choose Defaults for this program > put a checkmark on all entries under the list > click Save
