Why can't a user delete calendar delegates from their own calendar

By AdHards ·
A few users on our domian are having problems when deleting delegates that are able to access their calendar. The users that they cant delete used to be in our domain but since adding them have moved to a child domain. You can change the type of delgate they are or delete them but as soon as you clcik apply, it reverts back to what is was before!

Have you removed the permissions for the server side of exchange, thats way it might be happening, i would check the server side also and see what permissions are held on it.

Yes, I have checked the mailbox rights in AD for the user that is having the problem and also the users who are listed as delegates for the calender. Is there anywhere else to check, maybe something on exchange. Just to add, the user added these delegates himself so it is strange that he cant delete them. The only thing that has changed is that the delegates have moved from the same domain to a child domain.

No were else to check on exchange you have done what i would have tested.

try running outlook in safemode outlook /safe and try removing it again, also does the user have admin rights on the pc to perform this task, also is there any errors messages, only other thing to do if all else fails to to reconfigure outlook again ?

That is strange ok you said you moved the old profiles of the user to a child domain, is the account still alive in the parent domain, only other thing that i can think of at the min is it maybe holding old objects on the domain in relation to the outlook have you checked that he has admin rights on the local machine to remove it, i would also log into the computer with a domain admin account and try to remove it just a few thoughts on the issue it is a wierd one.

Exchange

Here's the scenario. User 1 in Domain A adds user 2 and 3 from domain A as delegates on User 1s calendar. Now user 2 and user 3 have move to domain B which is a child of Domain A. Now we cant remove user 2 and 3 from user 1's calander delegate list. I have even logged into another computer as User 1 and setup the outlook account and still the problem exists. The user can add and delete any user that they wish but not ones that they add then those people move to another domain.

Fix

by Wizard-09 In reply to Exchange

Ok this problem happened when you moved from the parent to the child, move the users back to the parent then have the user try and remove them, after that just move the users back down to the child ?
