Visit an Apple certified repair center if resetting it to factory conditions doesn’t help. They might be able to answer your question and they might even be able to fix it. We can do none of the two.

Try blowing out the air vents on the phone. Accumulated dust and debris can block ventilation ducts on the phone case resulting in overheating.
