Why is Spam is using my email address?

By henglon ·
Recently I received an email notification telling me that an email I sent has bounced. The contents of the bounced email was that of your regular money making spam email.
I did not sent this email, and wondered how the mass mailing program from Rainy Day Software Corp (www.rainyday.mb.ca) managed to get my hotmail email address.

My big question is how did my email (From hotmail) address could end up as the source of some email spam? Has anyone out there ever experienced such things?

was taken over by a spammer. Either your password was too simple or they cracked it.

Your Email Address

Their are so many email extracting softwares and third party utilities that use their email is to send out emails but show as though the source email id is something like yours, even regular emailing softwares have this kind of features.

if you have posted your email id in any forum/discussion it could be picked up from their or it could have been generated by utility softwares.
