Will dual-booting MS-DOS and Windows XP hurt anything?

I already have Windows XP on my computer and I also have an MS-DOS setup disk, I want to know if putting MS-DOS on the Windows XP computer will effect XP in any way. Also, what if I put MS-DOS on a computer with Windows Vista?
