Will MSWorks Docs work in MSOffice 2000

I have MS Office 2000 installed on my computer, when someone sends me an email with a document created in MS Works with the extension .wps I can’t seem to convert it to a Word doc. I’ve installed Word2000 with the ‘Run All from My Computer’ option and I can easily open and convert Word Perfect and Word Star docs. I should also add that I have Office XP on another computer that I use and have no problems opening .wps files. What can I do to fix this problem?
