I have a Dell latitiude E6400 laptop running Windows Vista Buisness SP2 here with an audio problem.
I have the drivers installed from the Dell website. Everything looks fine in device manager. It shows that audio devices are wokring fine with the latest driver installed.
But when you try to play an audio file or adjust the volume it says that there is no audio devices installed.
You cannot open up volume control by clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray, but if right click on it and select open volume mixer it says “no audio device is installed”.
I have had a Dell technicain here who swapped the audio card and it still would not work. He ran the dell hardware test and the audio works fine through that. But it has to be some sort of software problem.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Also the computer will not run .vbs files. Any ideas?
