win 10 join domain

I am trying to join my work domain with a win 10 pro laptop. We are running server 2008. I add the laptop name on the server. Then I join the domain by going to system and change the workgroup to the domain. After it joins I go to sytem then about and try to connect to work. It comes with an error that the domain could not be contacted. Not sure whats going on but this is the first in trying to join the domain with windows 10 pro.

Your question is quite confusing. First of all, all Windows computers since XP join a domain in the same manner. Simply go to System properties, select Change Settings, click on Change, and under Member Of select Domain. Next, you should be prompted for a user name and password of a Domain Admin.

Win10 Pro Domain

This is likely caused if you try to join the Domain via Wi-Fi . Try a hard Cable instead.
