Win 2000 reboots

By ladyh ·
I have tried for months to figure out why my win2K would reboot itself at random times. I had checked the hcl for win2k and all of my hardware was compatible. At one point I even tried reinstalling the OS thinking it was a corrupt install and thatdidn't help. I upgraded my motherboard and processor recently and after running across an article about win2k and Creative software I figured it was worth a shot. I enabled the sound on my new motherboard, removed the sound card from my system andremoved the Sound Blaster Live software from my computer. This is the longest my system has been without rebooting on me .... so far so good!

If your machine reboots without blue screening or dumping core, you may have either have an overheating processor or a bad power supply or a power supply that is too small for your system.
