Win 98 pci modem support

A friend gave me a pci modem and I installed it into my system but win98 will not install a driver. There is no pci venders on file. My friend said that he thought it was a lucent tech. modem and he has no install disk. Where would I go to get an updated driver or on that I can install into win98? It is a pnp modem or so I was told
