    win nt4.0

    we have 35 clients use win95 and 3 server running win nt4.0 so how could I manage to standardised the configuration of the client user computer when they log on to the network.I thougnt of using System Policy Editor but the problem is win 95/98 and server are different architecture

      That is exactly why you should use System Policies.

      Becuase they will work on 95/98/NT it’s just that you’ll have to name the .POL file diffrently for NT compared to 95/98.

      Think it’s NTCONFIG.POL for NT Workstations and CONFIG.POL for 95/98.

      Try Seting Up the NT 4 server to use Group Access instead of user access.

      Then asign the users to the Groups you want, and the Groups to the Access you want them to Have. The when Creating a new machine all you have to do is asing The user to Groups in the NT user Account Information.

      This makes for Very easy administration for you and little headaches.
