I have a slight confusion about XP Home and XP PRO with joining an NT domain.
My confusion lies in the fact that while trying to find out how to join an XP Home client to an NT 4.0 network (domain) I searched through every networking options on XP home and only found out how to join it to a WORKGROUP. So I join a little MSN moderated “tech support” chat group and I can’t seem to convince the supposed “Tech Support Gurus” there that connecting to NT via a workgroup is DIFFERENT from connecting to NT by joing a DOMAIN.
So I did one of those “yeah ok..well thanks.” deals and left.
Meanwhile I search Microsoft’s knowledge base and found how-to directions for joining an NT domain with Windows XP PROFESSIONAL. So then am I too assume that only XP professional (and not home edition) can participate in joining NT DOMAINS (not merely workgroups)?
