Win XP User Favorites

By gmichaels ·
I have a situation in XP where a user seems to be getting assigned the default IE Favorites list instead of the Favorites for that user login name. Under Documents and Settings for that user, I can see the favorites folder and its contents do not match what is seen when logged in as that user in IE. I cannot seem to find any way to redirect the user account to the appropriate Favorites list. Anybody know what's going on here ? How can I see where it is getting the Favotites list from and how can I redirect/use the favorites list I want?

Maybe editing Registry helps, tho' u need to be knowing wht risks are involved in doing that.
I browsed within the registry and found the location from where u can try to modify 'Favourites' folders' pointer. Heres' it for you:
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders.
Here, u can edit the value for Favorites and see if that helps. But make sure u have logged-in with that users' login.
The easier way I would go about this issue, is to creat a new profile for this user, and copy all his 'profile' related files to the new one from the old one.
Hope this helps.
