win2000 problem when hardware was replac

Anybody win 2000 that i replaced a new hardware so win 2000 can not load windows...any body suggesst me??? why it has happened

W2K not as bad as NT, But!

Unfortunately, the link to the MS knowledge base article is gone.

Basically, Microsoft recommends the following if you move a HDD with W2K installed to new hardware:

Backup the old system.

Perform a clean install of W2K on the new system.
Restore the old system from the backup.

There are a few work-arounds posted on the web.

Win 2000 PC replacement

If you replaced the whole system, you may also have the type of rem. If you go from SD ram to DDR ram, your system will just Blue screen. You have to install the operating system with the ddr ram installed.
