win2000 will not release ip in shut dwon

Our dhcp is on win nt server. The problem we are having is when windows 2000 shuts down it will not release the ip address if I run a batce file with ipcongif/release under the shutdown script on MMc then win2000 will release the ip address fine. Weset our dhcp lease to 5m. Dose any one have thae same problem .

Every one who see this..... the user has 1458
unrated questions. HE HASN"T accepted or rejected a single one. I hate free loaders and techRepublic should delete this account and not give access back. People like you are the reason there are such words like .. "slacker" and "worstless"

I didn't verify if the answer that Answer one gave is true, but since it is possible to find it out very easy, but I'm just on a slow Internet connection right now, I'll believe answer ons as is.
However I do agree 100% with the comment from Answerone.
