I am trying to convince my boss that in order to have a Win2K VPN you have to have a Win2K PDC for user authentication. I currently found a work around for this, but I would like to configure the network the right way. I need to know what are some of the problems that everyone is having with setting up a Win2K PDC on the same network with WINNT 4 BDC'S? (Please don't tee off to hard) :)

The thing to remember is you're not setting up a Win2K PDC, but you would be upgrading your NT4 domain to a mixed mode Active Directory. That means DNS is required and configured properly on your network. You also have to choose an AD forest name that (at least for now) you will have to live with.
Other wise it is pretty straightforward. You need to upgrade your NT4 PDC (or install a new BDC from stratch then promote it to PDC) to Windows2000. At the end of the upgrade (following a reboot)the dcpromo will start to upgrade your SAM to AD. Following this it will function as the PDC Emulator for your NT4 BDCs.
