Win2k Pro and Access Denied error

By bbrandelli ·
I have made a regular user profile that is getting an Access Denied error that I have looked in the event viewer and still cannot figure out what is causing it.

Any Suggestions ?

Try a program called NLTEST.EXE - it comes supplied with 2000 Pro, but needs to be installed separately - it's on the CD in the \support directory, classed as a support tool. It's used for checking user and domain accounts.

I'm afraid your description is a bit confusing - I have made a regular user profile ?? When a new user logs on, they will receive a copy of the default user profile as a base for their own new profile. It is common to edit aspects of the all user profile in order to ensure that new users of a machine receive predefined settings. Is this what you have done ?? Until you provide some more detail the only way to go is to check the file and folder access rights on the profile, and ensure that the user who is logging on is able to access the profile.
