Win2k SP1 Server: Print subsystem is unavailable:
Clients cannot print to network printer via server. When viewing printer properties (or even adding a new printer), the message “Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resources. The print subsystem is unavailable.” This stops the Print Spooler service. After restarting the service, printers become visable again in the Printers window; however, upon trying to access the properties again, the viscious cycle continues.
Microsoft’s solution to set the print spooler to automatically start was of no use, as this service is already so configured.
