Win2K to Win95 Network Share Connections

By agonzalez@nchmarketing. ·
We have started to migrate Win95 desktops to Win2k and are having erratic network connections from Win2K to Win95 shared connections. On Win2k desktops we get and "Access Denied" error when mapping to an existing Win95 shared directory. These Win2k desktops have SP2 and I have tested with SP3 and still get the same problem. After several attempts, we finally get a connection, but sometimes it times out and the connection drops at different intervals. The only way this works is by specifying the\\IP_address\Share on the Win2K desktop but even this sometimes timesout during the day. We do have a WINS server in place so this can't be the problem. I have also set my protocols to bind TCP/IP first then NetBEUI second (we need the NetBEUI protocol). Also have disabled/enabled the NetBEUI over TCP/IP and still have the same problem.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated much!
Thanks,
Art
