WIn95/98 can not access files/folders

I have a wierd problem. I was trying to copy a folder and subfolders from one workstation to another. I get a access denied, folder or files have been moved or do not exist. Well they have not been moved or deleted, as I can still still view them via the network and locally. Never seen this before, any ideas?
