To network 2 win 95 stations you just need to install the File sharing (and Print Sharing as needed) by Right clicking the network neighborhood icon, and selecting properties. The you can hit the File & print sharing button, then check the appropriate items. The security part is tricky... I don't really trust the password protection that Windows provides. Instead, I'd recommend using commerical product called BlackIce defender (a trial can be found at www.networkice.com).

Good Luck!

No you can't Network them together but you can Share your folders with read write access to access via \\the machines ipfor instance you share a folder called stuff$ then you would place into your browser the remote pc ip as such. \\255.255.255.\stuff$ now the $ makes the folder hidden so no one can access it and makes it basically impossible to hack in. buyt with out the $ they can do a brute force attack. share C as C$ and place full rights with a password that is hard to guess. then you can search \\192.192.192.1\c$ and your in like Flynn. $ is security in shares. use $ do not spend $ for security.

The short answer is yes but the devil is in the details. There are two aspects to security across the Web: the first is authentication or preventing unauthorized access to your machine; the second is encryption to prevent someone from intercepting your information (by default, everything is sent in clear text).

Your best bet, in my opinion, would be to set up a VPN (virtual private network) using PPTP (point-to-point tunneling protocol). If you have the 1.2 or 1.3 version of Dial-Up Networking, this will work under Windows95 and will address both aspects of Web security.

Very low-cost, fairly effective.

yes it is possible, using a network hub and a web ramp. a web ramp is basicly a router with a built in standard modem or dsl modem.
configure the computers for basic networking using client for microsoft and install tcp/ip protocol. assigning to different addresses to each machine. use the same sub net mask. conect the web ramp and the ip address is configured for that device will allow the other computer share the internet. use the dns and gateway tabs under tcp/ip properies and configure for the we ramp address. their will be three connection the the hub. 2 pc's and one web ramp. the computer will using the internet through a lan connection.
