Win98 does not support this level of security…..

best bet is to either upgrade to NT/W2000/XP or purchase a third party encryption software.

(Come to think of it, W98 doesn’t support much in the way security!)

You can put password access to folders in Windows 98, but there are limitations. Windows 98 only supports share level security which is different from NT/2000/XP user level security.

Go to the Windows 98 help files and look up “shared folders.” You can share folders with a password and limit it to a certain group or individuals. Look at the entries on “creating” and “controlling access to.”

You can set up security through a number of software, some are TwiekUI, and Internet Guard Dog. ZDnet, download has trial software to see if that particular program meets your needs.
The programs restricts total access, especially to the Control Panel, and folders.
      Hope this helps, Kim
