Win98 Printing

By wendell ·
I need to get a TCPIP printer setup in Win98 but in the add port options this option is not there. How can I get this option to show up?

I am assuming that your printer has got a
static IP address, the you require some
some P2P printing software which can forward
print jobs straight to printer instead of print

It hink this is a simple setup...

I think you want to connect to the Print server that the printer is installed on. You can either point to the server (\\servername\printer) and open this in a address line and double click the printer, if it hasn't already asked you to install it. You need to know the name of the printer. OR, you can use the wizard and select network printer and point to the servername in the second radio checkbox without typing a name so it will search systems that have shared printers installed. one of them will be your server with many printers (depends on how many are installed) listed. Select the printer and follow on through the process. Either way should work. You can also use the first radio checkbox, but that assumes that your AD is clean and there are no dead printers still in AD.

Good Luck!
