I have a question about windows 10. Can you help me?
There are a number of ways of getting user data from one Windows machine to another, or a refreshed machine. What are people doing? How is it working out for Windows 10?

2 solutions you can use to migrate Windows 10 user data

by ailsa66 In reply to Windows 10 Migrations Wha ...

i assum that you migrate user profile in Windows 10, there are something you could do:
1. Backup and Restore: backup all the user profiles in Windows 7/8/10, and then restore it to another computer with ease.
2. View Advanced System Settings:
3. Sync user files with AOMEI Backupper
More details please refer to copy user profile to another computer in Windows 7/8/10: https://www.backup-utility.com/windows-7/copy-user-profile-windows-7-to-another-computer-5740.html

Definitely use USMT - User State Migration Tool

by FrankBHartmann In reply to Windows 10 Migrations Wha ...

USMT is made by Microsoft for this and used in SCCM and MDT deployment tools for migration of users.
It also takes care of Windows or Office being different versions on the two PC's

Since last year I have used USMTGUI from EhlerTech to run USMT.
https://ehlertech.com/usmtgui
It is a user interface for USMT that sets up and runs USMTGUI for you.
However it also comes with a lot of extra custom XML files and is updated at least twice a year. Latest version I just received also migrates to Azure Users

USMTGUI or User Profile Central on bigger migrations

by dcunnings In reply to Windows 10 Migrations Wha ...

I would definitely use USMTGUI as it does nearly perfect Win10 to Win10 migrations.
Just used USMTGUI to move a bunch of users from one Domain to another.
Even the position of icons on the desktop was the same after restore!

Make sure stuff like Firefox and Chrome are same versions (x86/64 on both source and target PC and even saved browser favorites and passwords will transfer over.

A beaut. simply
