Windows 2000/Netware problem

By eisenwal ·
We just migrated to Windows 2000 with NOVELL client and sometimes it kills the connection to the network. But if you click on another network drive it connectes again (not all the time) Sometimes need to reboot. Is their problems with some of the services in 2000 conflicting with the Novell client?? No one can figure this out?? I hate getting calls from employees "I lost my network connection" Can someone lead me in the right direction....Please...

Windows 2000/Netware problem

Which client? Which Novell?
Microsoft has a bad habit of replacing files it shouldn't, the main one being mapi32.dll (It should be about 600kb, not the scrawny Microsoft version of around 120kb). Another maligned dll is Emsuix32.dll ~470kb.

Areyou using Client 3.3 SP3? You should be.

Addendum: Try re-installing a client after the office install and see what happens.

Another comment today: I just read your question again and I apologize. You were in the Office 2000 section so I thought and I thought Office 2000 was causing the problem. The correct client for Windows 2000 is wnt48e. Still check the map32.
