Windows 2000 proffesional

By jesses2000 ·
Every time I write something to the floppy drive the computer beeps, the power light flashes and it reboots. If I go to Microsoft word and try to save something it reboots almost instanly. I use a AMD k6500 cpu and asus P5A and 64 MB RAM. I swap drives and it still get the same problem. I caught a memory dumb on my screen but it was too fast and i dont know what to use to read that memory dump. The computer used to work fine when i was using Win98 so I am thinking its a Windows 2000 issue.I also have the service pack 1 installed.

Thanks in advance

Does your system crash only when you attempt to write to the floppy disk? If so maybe there is an IRQ conflict or a driver problem. Next time you boot into your system, check the system resources, the IRQ's. If no conflicts appear, try re-installing the driver.

I think it's heat related. Check you cpu fan and you cpu temp shutdown settings in bios.
