Any word on the “street” regarding when M$ plans to release Service Pack 3 for Windows 2000 Professional?

Should be soon. The beta is already out and I have friends using it… Although for me, there’s just something wrong about having a BETA SERVICE PACK installed on your computer. I thought service packs were to improve your system, not possibly make them worse… hehehe

Win 2000 SP3 problems?

I installed SP3 for win 2000 and my system became very slow then when I boot my PC the next morning it gave me a boot device not found error. I was able to run the recover console and run CHKDSK. This fixed a problem with the HDD and allowed me to boot but the system was still really slow. I then removed SP3 and my system is happy again. Has any one else run into a problem with SP3?

Hard Drive Problems

After installing SP3 I get hard drive errors when I boot up, and disk caching is disabled. After I uninstalled SP3 it was fine again.
