Windows 2008: PowerShell commands work, but fail when put in a script

I can successfully enter a get-wmiobject command directly in the PowerShell window, but it fails with an “Invalid Query” error when put in a PowerShell script. I can’t figure out why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated!
