Windows 98 randomly hangs

By pickinguitar ·
I have a customer who runs a testing program to test his employees with, and Windows randomly hangs during the operation of this program. The machine has 192 MB of RAM, has been defragged regularly, and all TEMP files have been removed. The latest patches for Windows have been downloaded as well. Still hangs randomly. The software vendor claims that it is a hardware problem, although I can't find anything wrong with the hardware or the OS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Windows 98 randomly hangs

the best way to solve this problem is
1. firstly check the software that you / customer have installed recently. Uninstall it and then see whether you have the same problem.
2. Check the drivers and running programs when you start the system. Use ctrl+alt+del and check them. See if you find a driver or program not responding end its task. Except the default ones of windows.
3. Check with the system file checker whether all the windows files are intact. if not reload them.
hope the above would solve your problem
