      Technical questions belong in the Technical Q and A section, not the discussion forum.

      No, you cannot copy the Windows update program from a W2K box to a different version of Windows.
      The update program is an ActiveX control, and needs to be installed on the target PC.

      I would all but forget about updating a W95 box, as Microsoft considers it obsolete. Since no new security patches are being released, any W95 box that connects to the internet is a security risk.

      You can access Windows update for any supported version of Windows from links at http://www.microsoft.com

      I believe that you will need at least IE version 5. Which you can no longer get from Microsoft.
