Windows cannot load profile, but has logged you on with the default profile for the system

Windows cannot load profile, but has logged you on with the default profile for the system.
The system has attempted to restore a file into the registry but the specified file is not in a registry file.

sounds like the profile got hosed or maybe the rights got changed on the profile folder...can you logon as admin and check the rights on the folder? can you create new user, logon as them, logoff and back on as admin and copy troublesome profile to new one to see if that fixes it?

2 things...

1) check dns entries

2) profile folder on server is not set for user, change rights on that folder to give him / her permission.

you're right, the profile was corrupt. I went ahead created a new folder and deleted the local profile, since we we're running "Roaming" profiles. thank's for the help..
