Windows cannot storing password

By guavarepublic ·
I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP2. recently I have a problem that I can't save any password.

For example my Windows Live Messenger always ask me to enter user name and password everytime it run for the first time after loading windows (although I have tick "remember me" box).

Second, my Outlook always asks me for SMTP and POP password.

Anyone can help me?

User names and passwords

Check if the browser option AutoComplete - 'User names and passwords on forms' has been turned off.

If your PC is in a workgroup, you can check your stored network passwords from User Accounts - Related Tasks - Manage My Network Passwords.

If that does not help, your profile in Documents and Settings may be corrupt. Do you get any error messages or warnings when you login to your PC and when you logout? If you are the local adminstrator of your PC, try creating a new user account and see if that account remembers the passwords after you have entered them once.
