    Windows Desktop Rightclick Lag Bug

    by handsomeware ·

    Tags:

When I rightclick on Desktop i get a delay of 5-6 sec. This happens only when I rightclick on the Desktop-Image. Rightclicking files works fine. I also have no other problems than this one. I tried out various things: deleting not necessary files in ContextMenuHandle in Registry Editor, installing shexview, updating Windos and Drivers. It wont work. I know I could reinstall windows, but this is not an option. I would be glad about any ideas. Thanks

Disable all the unnecessary shell extensions

If you have a context menu which has a lot of 3rd party shell extensions then it’s possible that one of them may be corrupted and that’s why it’s causing a delay in right-click context menu. Also, many shell extensions can all together cause the delay, so make sure to disable all the unnecessary shell extensions. 1.
