Have a WINXP sp2 system which had a crash. After repairing the hardware problem that caused the crash, I keep getting a pop-up window for Windows Installer. This happens anytime I start and Office application and many times when a program like quicken or turbo tax loads a different library. When this happens the PC locks up for 45 seconds to a minute and then the pop-up disappears and the program runs normally. I have tried going back to a restore point (before the crash) and also did a reinstall(repair) of the OS. The problem remains. Any ideas?
