Can a Windows Me Boot Disk Scanreg command be used to restore the registry on a Windows 98 computer?

Is it worth the risk?

Windows ME is an update version on 98. That means that either win 98 or the boot disk itself could do things that you aren't expecting.

Rather than risk loss of Data, or complete meltdown try going to this link.

Look for your specific version of 98. It isn't hard to find. BTW if you are ever in need, or you just feel like venting, here's a site that will give you massive satisfaction and all-around-solid advice despite their name and a few of their more colorfull characters.
