Windows NT 4.0 does not see my CD-Rom

By abcs ·
I upgraded my motherboard to a new Gigabyte
GA-60XM7 and now Windows NT cannot see my CD-Rom drive. It was working fine with the old motherboard.

During bootup the secondary IDE shows the cd-rom drive as being there.

Any Ideas short of blowing away windows and re-installing.

Thanks,
Robert Payne

Try flashing the BIOS to the newest version.
Also, make sure the BIOS is set to "NO" for a PnP OS. Then try to install the drivers and WinNT SP6a again.

Good luck!

Windows NT 4.0 does not see my CD-Rom

NT is extremely picky about hardward and hardware combinations. When you see that your secondary IDE is a CD-ROM, that's probably a BIOS message - not an NT message. Check with you CD-ROM manufacturer to get the latest version of the NT driver. Install the new driver and see what happens.

Hope this helps!
