Windows NT upgrade to W2K Professional

By daveyuen ·
We have NT Server Domain with all Windows NT based workstation and W2K Server running AD for MS Outlook 2000 Server while all workstation are using MS Outlook. Recently we have upgrade several NT PC to W2k Professional (Service Pack 3), then we found that MS Outlook takes long time to load and quit, what can I do to fix that? thanks!

Microsoft recommends that you can double your system requirement from the minimum requirement to improve performance. See if yu have atleast 128 MB of Memory and 350-450 MHZ processor. Since this is an upgade, your Harddrive speed could be a factor too. Try also degfragmenting your HD.

Fire up Microsoft Management Console (start->run->"mmc") and add an event viewer snap in to examine what is happening when Outlook is run. This will give you some indication of what error exactly is causing this behavior, the application or system logs are going to most likely contain the cause of the error. This is just a start, I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get the points as this isn't an answer, just how to find the answer. Feel free to email me any suss entries in the event viewer and I'll help out if I can.
