Windows RIS updates

By wtdrisco ·
I had created a build set 3 years ago that included all the network drivers at that time in Windows2000. Over time, network cards update and the drivers are not found. We have had to change network cards to get the build set to work. Has anyone had success with adding new network card drivers to a RIS Build? I had gone through an older article from Microsoft, but the new driver is not being recognized. Thanks for any help on how to do this.

NIC driver updates in RIS

by Che_K In reply to Windows RIS updates

If you need to add a new network drive to the RIS server so that RIS can find the NIC during its text-mode download phase, you can follow the directions in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 315279, ?How to Add a Third-Party OEM Network Adapter to an RIS Installation.?

The key to this process is to copy the new NIC drivers to the flat file image folder for Windows 2k/XP OS. This allows RIS to find and use the network card driver during the text-mode setup portion of RIS.
