Windows Update

By NetWill ·
Most of our Win9x don't have internet access.

We don't have SMS.

Given that you can click on Windows Update in Internet Explorer to update windows and Internet Explorer from Microsoft site, it there a way to download all that updates (criticalupdates, IE,...etc) to a shared folder and run it there?

Appreciate the help!

Hi, yes you will find the files in the c:\Windows Update Setup Files directory after you do the initial download. After the initial download, you can install them from that directory on other shared machines.

Actually Microsoft provides a site location specifically for this type of action. It is at

http://corporate.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

This site allows you to not only make the downloads but you can group them into packages for installing across a network. Take a look at it and you should find it to be very helpful.

Good luck.
