Windows XP and NIC driver duplication

When imaging XP machines using Symantec’s Ghost software,( On a Novell Network utilizing 4.83 client), a duplicate of the NIC driver(3COM 3C920 fast Ethernet controller- 3C905C- compatible)seems to be broadcasting to the other XP machines on the same LAN creating a driver conflict that ultimately leads to critical stop message when attempting to disable/ uninstall??????
