windows xp driver removal

I installed an older CD-RW on my new computer which has windows xp, installed the CD which came with it and rebooted. It aperently was not compatible with xp. I then removed the CD-RW from the computer and removed the software in “add or remove programs” I then bought a new Sony CD-RW that was compatible with Windows XP. This one works fine. The problem is that every time I turn on or reboot the computer, I get a message that says “CD Recording software” will cause windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading.”
What do I have to do to get rid of this message? This message is from the old CD-RW that I removed.
