Windows XP Explorer occassionally hangs while logging into Network
Through research I've updated the bios (was A.03, new from Dell is A.05) and the drivers.
The Sound and Network cards are Integrated by Dell's choice and share IRQ 17. I've tried turning off the sound and the systems still hang.
If they come up the sound is not working and they can not access Network drives that are mapped.
Windows Explorer is usually what stops responding from a cold reboot. It may take 5 to 6 reboots before the machine works again. Dell support was not much help, defrag and if it's still broken reinstall OS.
Any suggestions.
